Report: Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for 19-year-old Barcelona starlet

Sport have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are now following Barcelona academy starlet Mika Faye ahead of the summer transfer window.

Faye is yet to make his senior Barca debut, although he did make Xavi Hernández’s matchday squad for the match against Mallorca recently.

The centre-back has been turning a lot of heads with his performances for the Catalan club’s reserve side this season and he has now allegedly emerged as a target for several clubs around the continent, including Spurs.

Tottenham are interested in Mika Faye

Sport say that Tottenham ‘have been following’ Faye’s development while Girona are also quite keen on him. Additionally, Nice and Lens have also allegedly spoken to the La Masia graduate’s entourage.

The report that the 19-year-old is seen as ‘one of Barça’s great assets for the future’ but since Blaugrana are well-stocked for centre-backs, they would consider ‘very important offers’ for him in the summer.

The outlet suggests that Faye is now on the cusp of breaking into Senegal’s national team and when he does so, the La Liga giants expect his price to shoot up further.

Finally, the publication adds that Barca are open to different formulas, including selling the teenager with a buyback option or loaning him out along with a purchase option.

With Johan Lange being quite open about Tottenham’s strategy of wanting to attract the top young talent in European and world football to Hotpsur Way, one would certainly expect the North London club to take a closer look at Faye and explore a potential deal closely.
