Report: Tottenham Hotspur star now ‘resigned to staying’ at the club

Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen has only started one match so far this season, which came in the 2-2 draw against Man City at the Etihad.

Against both Aston Villa and Newcastle United, Eriksen was introduced from the bench with about 30 minutes to go.

In the former, he was the hero as he flipped the game on its head and masterminded three late Spurs goals to overturn a Villa lead.

However, against Newcastle, Eriksen was unable to craft a late goal again for Spurs as Pochettino’s men succumbed to a 1-0 shock defeat.

Despite the transfer window being open for a few more days yet, TalkSPORT have now reported that Eriksen is ‘resigned to staying’ at the club. However, this may only last until the January transfer window.

The Daily Mail say that Eriksen will not consider a new contract, despite the fact that his dream move to Spain does not appear to be happening, with no bids from Barca or Real.
