Report: Tottenham Hotspur target ‘prepares his bags’ ready for move

A report from A Bola suggests the transfer of Pedro Porro from Sporting Lisbon to Tottenham Hotspur is close to being made official and claims the player is preparing to pack his bags ahead of the move being finalised.

It’s taken almost a whole transfer window to resolve, but it appears the long drawn-out pursuit of Porro is in its final stages now for Tottenham. The 23-year-old was earmarked as Spurs’ top target at the start of the month, but negotiations have been complicated by all accounts.

According to O Jogo, Tottenham will now pay the full €45 million (£39.6 million) that Sporting requested, but the fee will be paid in installments rather than upfront, which suits Spurs.

When the deal will actually be completed remains to be seen, though. Journalist Bruno Andrade claimed Spurs will accept Sporting’s request to allow Porro to play in their League Cup final clash tomorrow evening against Porto.

Either way, the latest from A Bola appears to suggest the deal is in the offering. The outlet claims Porro already ‘prepares his bags’ for the move to Tottenham, with a belief the arrangement is incredibly close to being ‘closed and made official.’

The report suggests ‘everything indicates’ the cup final will be the big farewell for Porro and it is hoped he can hold a trophy in his hands for Sporting before heading to England to start his career with Spurs. With bags packed, goodbyes being said, and a swansong appearance planned, it is thought this is a matter of when not if, now.

I honestly cannot wait to see Pedro Porro holding a Tottenham Hotspur shirt. This whole process has been so long and tedious, but as long as we get our man it will all be worth it in the end.
