According to a report by 90min, Tottenham Hotspur are one of a handful of Premier League clubs who are interested in Schalke striker Matthew Hoppe.

Hope has made a fantastic impression since breaking into the Schalke side earlier this season.

The 19-year-old has scored five times in 11 Bundesliga appearances so far, a commendable record considering that the Royal Blues are rooted to the bottom of the table.

90 min claim that Spurs, Liverpool and Manchester City have been monitoring Hope’s progress and have been hugely impressed with what they have seen.

The report reveals that the American forward is also attracting interest from multiple clubs in Spain and Italy.

It is suggested that Schalke could be forced to sell the teenager at the end of the season due to their on-field struggles and financial issues.

Several of the biggest clubs around Europe are said to be confident they can snap up Hoppe in the summer.

To score five goals in eleven appearances for this Schalke side, who have been struggling to create chances, is certainly an impressive feat. The fact Hoppe is just 19 means he also has a lot of room to improve over the coming years.

However, we already have a couple of talented young forwards at the club in Troy Parrott and Dane Scarlett. So, signing a player like Hoppe might not be ideal for their development.
