90 min have now claimed that Wolves winger Adama Traore is one of the alternatives that Tottenham have identified to Pedro Porro.
The negotiations between Tottenham and Sporting Lisbon for Porro seem to have hit a deadlock over the past week and a half, with multiple reports claiming that the North London club are not willing to meet the player’s £40m release clause (Football.London).
FC Inter News reported over the weekend that after being frustrated in their efforts to sign Porro, Spurs could turn their attention to Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries.
The report explained that the Dutchman’s agent was in London and could hold talks with the Lilywhites, with the Nerazzurri allegedly willing to consider an offer of €40m (£35.5m) for the former PSV Eindhoven man.
90 min have now backed up the claim about Dumfries being one of Tottenham’s backup options to Porro but they add that the Netherlands international is not the only alternative Antonio Conte’s men have identified.
The publication states that Spurs are also continuing to monitor Traore, who has just six months left to run on his current deal at the Molineux Stadium (Transfermarkt).

Porro would clearly be the best fit for Spurs among the three options, given his effectiveness in one vs one situations and his crossing ability.
However, if for some reason that the deal for the 23-year-old does not materialise, I would prefer us to sign Traore over Dumfries as at least the Wolves star possesses elite ball-carrying ability, even though he is quite ineffective in the final third.
I just do not see what Dumfries would offer Spurs that Matt Doherty (or Djed Spence) does not and I think it would be wasteful to spend £35m on the Inter star.
