Report: Tottenham identify two replacements for Dembele – and one is a World Cup winner

Tottenham Hotspur unfortunately parted ways with fan favourite midfielder Mousa Dembele yesterday, securing an £11m fee from Chinese club Guangzhou R&F for the player (Mail).

After over six years of the big Belgian running the show in the Tottenham engine room, Spurs must now face the tough task of replacing Dembele.

This will prove to be extremely difficult, as another player of his exact style simply does not exist at the moment.

However, Inter Live report that Spurs have lined up two top players to fill the gap left by Dembele, and they certainly come with some pedigree.

It is understood that Tottenham are looking at Juventus’ Blaise Matuidi, and Inter Milan’s Matias Vecino.

Both are midfielders at the very top of their game, with Matuidi having won five league titles with Juve and PSG, as well as a World Cup with France.

Which one of these two would you rather have in your side?
