Report: Tottenham in talks with alternative to Mauricio Pochettino

Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Antonio Conte about the vacant managerial position, according to Sky Italia.

Last month, Conte left his job as manager of Internazionale by mutual consent, three and a half weeks after leading the club to their first Serie A title in 11 years (Sky Sports).

The former Chelsea boss was reportedly asked by Inter chairman Steven Zhang to slash his wage bill by 15 to 20 per cent and potentially sell players worth up to £70m ahead of next season.

Tottenham have been heavily linked with a sensational swoop to bring Mauricio Pochettino back to North London, however some outlets have claimed that the Argentine has not asked to leave the French giants (Telegraph).

Conte had also been linked with the Real Madrid job, with El Chiringuito TV claiming that former Chelsea players Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois were against the prospect of working under the Italian once again.

Fabrizio Romano has also reporting news of the talks between the two parties.
