Report: Tottenham in race with Liverpool and Arsenal for £22m Greek left-back

Tottenham Hotspur are one among several clubs in Europe chasing Olympiacos defender, Kostas Tsimikas, according to a report in SDNA.

The 23-year-old has been a rising star in the Greek Super League for a couple of seasons and caught the eye with several impressive displays in the Champions League and Europa League this campaign.

The left-back, who is known for his ability to get up the pitch and deliver quality balls into the box, has notched up six assists this season in all competitions (transfermarkt).

His performances certainly haven’t gone unnoticed as SDNA claim that Tottenham, Arsenal, Leicester, and Liverpool are all competing for the Greek international’s signature. The report reveals that the defender is also a target for Serie A duo Napoli and Inter Milan.

It is suggested that it will take €25 million to price Tsimikas away from Olympiacos and the report installs Liverpool as the frontrunners for his signature at the moment.

Most of these transfer rumours have to be taken with a pinch of salt as it is likely that all clubs will reassess their targets based on the impact of the coronavirus shutdown. As the window unfolds, many opportunities will likely open up, with some clubs desperately needing to sell players in order to raise funds.
