Report: Tottenham ‘increasingly looking to be heading’ towards early recall for starlet

Tottenham Hotspur are apparently ‘increasingly looking to be heading’ towards a recall for their on-loan starlet, Jack Clarke.

Spurs ended their near 18-month transfer drought with the acquisition of Clarke in the summer as he joined the Lilywhites from Leeds United.

Still being a teenager with relatively little experience in the first-team, Spurs clearly thought it best to loan him back out to his boyhood club to continue his development.

However, it has been a frustrating season for the winger so ar at Leeds, as he has still yet to be used in the Championship by Marcelo Bielsa.

Clarke’s only senior football this season has come in two EFL Cup fixtures, as well as some under 23 football.

At the very least, the teenager has been included in the matchday squad of late, making the bench in the last eight league games (Transfer Markt).

Before that run, he had missed out on the squad altogether for six consecutive matches.

According to Football London, we could well see him in North London soon.

They said: ‘Tottenham do have a recall option to bring back Clarke in January if they believe the loan spell isn’t working out for the youngster and it’s increasingly looking to be heading that way unless Leeds suffer an injury crisis in the weeks ahead and the teenager starts to get game time.’
