Report: Tottenham injury boost as player is in contention to return this week

Football London have reported that Tottenham Hotspur could have Clement Lenglet back in time for the trip to Aston Villa this weekend, following his injury against Crystal Palace.

The Frenchman had put in a solid shift for the Lilywhites against the Eagles before having to leave the pitch in the dying minutes due to a shoulder injury.

Lenglet attempted to grab Wilfried Zaha and stop him from mounting a late Palace attack, but came out of the incident second best and was soon replaced by Eric Dier.

After finding a system and starting XI that seemed to gel, Ryan Mason may have feared that he would have to go back to the drawing board this week ahead of the all-important Villa clash.

However, Football London report that Lenglet is in contention to return this weekend as Spurs look to qualify for Europe next season.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Being able to name an unchanged XI would be great for Ryan Mason this week, having seen a huge improvement last weekend against Palace. I suppose Ben Davies could slide into the back three and Ivan Perisic could play left-wing-back even if Lenglet is not fit in time though.
