Report: Tottenham interested in a summer move for Wolves holding midfielder

Tottenham are showing interest in Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder, Ruben Neves, with a potential summer bid on the cards.

It is believed that the Portuguese midfielder ‘particularly appeals’ to his fellow countryman, Jose Mourinho, according to a report from Le 10 Sport (as relayed by SportWitness).

The 23-year-old has impressed hugely since his arrival from Porto in 2017. The young midfielder helped to propel Wolves into the Premier League and more recently the Europa League (Transfermarkt).

Although no moves have yet been made, it is believed that Neves is being monitored by Mourinho and Tottenham.

Neves has not had a great return in this season’s Premier League campaign with just one goal and two assists in 29 appearances (Transfermarkt). However, as a defensive midfielder, he could be the missing piece in Mourinho’s midfield jigsaw.

Spurs Web Opinion

There are a lot of admirers for Neves as he has shone since arriving at Wolves with some incredible goals in his portfolio. As a midfielder who tends to sit deep, he could be exactly what Spurs are looking for. With Neves in midfield, it would allow Ndombele a bit more freedom to roam, however, as always, it depends on the asking price.
