Report: Tottenham interested in goalkeeper – Bundesliga club prefer summer loan

According to Kicker, Bayern Munich are contemplating Alexander Nubel’s future, with Tottenham Hotspur interested in signing the goalkeeper.

Nubel has only made a handful of appearances for Bayern since his move from Schalke in the summer of 2020.

The 25-year-old, who served as backup to Manuel Neuer last season, joined AS Monaco on a two-year loan last summer, and he has had an impressive campaign between the sticks for the Ligue 1 club so far.

Kicker now claim that Bayern have the option of ending Nubel’s loan spell at Monaco prematurely at the end of the current season.

It is revealed that the Bundesliga champions are yet to make a decision regarding the goalkeeper’s future.

It is explained that the club are certain to offer Manuel Neuer a contract extension and it would thus be difficult for Nubel to get sufficient game time at the Allianz Arena.

The youngster has allegedly made it clear that he would only return to his parent club if he is promised minutes.

Kicker add that Bayern’s preference would be to extend Nubel’s contract and allow the goalkeeper to continue his development elsewhere on loan.

Spurs are said to have expressed an interest in snapping up the former Schalke man in the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Spurs are almost certain to be in the market for a backup goalkeeper in the summer as the club are unlikely to take up the option to make Gollini’s loan deal permanent.

However, I do not think Nubel would be a realistic target for Spurs as the 25-year-old would want to be the guaranteed number one, having tasted regular first-team football at Monaco.
