Report: Tottenham interested in re-signing player who left the club in 2018

90 min have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in re-signing former academy product Noni Madueke from PSV Eindhoven this summer.

Madueke, who was born in Barnett, came through the age group ranks in the Tottenham academy and captained the club’s Under-16s before moving to PSV in 2018 in search of regular first-team football.

The winger has been a revelation in the Eredivisie, establishing himself as a regular in PSV’s starting lineup during the 2020/21 campaign, in which he scored nine goals and provided eight assists (Transfermarkt).

A hamstring injury put the youngster out of action for large parts of the 2021/22 campaign but that has not stopped Premier League clubs from lining up for his signature this summer.

90 min claim that apart from Spurs, the likes of Leicester City, Leeds United, Newcastle United, Everton and Wolves are all tracking the England Under-21 international.

The report adds that PSV face a battle to hang on to Madueke amidst growing interest from the Premier League.

If Spurs are serious about their interest in Madueke, hopefully, the winger’s familiarity with the club will give the North Londoners an advantage over other suitors. However, the 20-year-old might feel that he has a better chance of getting regular minutes at a club like Leeds or Everton.
