Report: Tottenham interested in signing striker with 40 goals in 33 games this season

A report has indicated that Tottenham are interested in signing Borussia Dortmund striker, Erling Braut Haaland, just six months after he joined the Bundesliga club (TuttoMercatoWeb).

Spurs have been struggling without a second natural centre-forward in their senior ranks this season, with Harry Kane picking up an injury in January. Tottenham chose to sell Vincent Janssen and let Fernando Llorente leave on a free last summer.

The report claims that Spurs are monitoring Haaland’s situation in Germany and are preparing a move for the striker in the summer.

Haaland has scored 40 goals and set up a further nine this season for both Dortmund and RB Salzburg. The Norweigian netted seven in his first three games for Borussia (Transfer Market).

Despite the reported intentions of the Lilywhites, the Express quote Haaland’s agent, the infamous Mino Raiola, as saying that the striker would be staying put this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion:

There is no way this will happen. Spurs would not pay enough for him, Haaland will not want to move after six months, and the striker will not want to play as Kane’s understudy.
