Report: Spurs to battle Juventus and Liverpool for highly-rated youngster

The list of players that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing is growing bigger and bigger every day.

The Lilywhites are now reportedly eyeing up West Brom’s 19-year-old midfielder Rekeem Harper.

The report comes from London Football News who claim that the north London club have held discussions with West Bromwich Albion over the transfer of the youngster.

Any potential deal would likely involve sending the England U21 international back to the Hawthorn’s on a loan deal until the end of next season.

Harper is out of contract with the Birmingham side after failing to agree to an extension and has been linked with a number of European heavyweights in this transfer window.

The Mirror has reported that Juventus are hopeful of pipping Liverpool and Tottenham to the player who has been with West Brom since he was 12.

The Baggies’ newly appointed boss Slaven Bilic, however, is keen to hold talks with the midfielder and keep him in the Midlands.

The Croat wants the youngster to play a key role in the push for promotion at the Championship side.

Harper made 16 appearances for West Brom last season and helped his team reach the Championship play-offs.

He is very likely to be given a chance to impress under Slaven Bilic, but we simply can’t see him starting for Tottenham week in week out.
