Report: Tottenham join Arsenal and Liverpool in race for Danish midfielder

According to reports from Denmark, Tottenham Hotspur have entered the race to sign Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Jesper Lindstrom in the summer.

Lindstrom joined the German side in the summer of 2021 from Danish outfit Brondby IF. He has since racked up 70 appearances for Frankfurt, registering 14 goals and 13 assists (Transfermarkt).

The 23-year-old is considered one of the brightest prospects in the Danish national side, with nine caps to his name (Transfermarkt) and many more to come.

The attacking midfielder was part of the Frankfurt side who won the Europa League last season. He has continued his form and impressed for the Bundesliga side this year, too.

Lindstrom has contributed nine goals and four assists this season from midfield (Transfermarkt). However, he could be coming to the end of his Frankfurt career.

With his stock rising, Lindstrom could well be on the move this summer as something of an exodus begins at Frankfurt.

A report from Danish outlet Ekstrabladet suggests Lindstrom is ready to move on, and Tottenham Hotspur could come in for the player as they look to add a creative midfielder to their squad.

Ekstrabladet claims there are “plans for a summer sale” at Frankfurt and the “impressive achievements” of Lindstrom over the last two seasons have caught the eye.

It is thought Lindstrom has not “officially been put up for sale yet,” but there is “massive interest” in the player already which leaves his future in doubt.

The report claims Arsenal and Liverpool have already shown an interest, but now Tottenham Hotspur have joined the list along with Newcastle, Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Napoli, and Inter.

It is believed that Frankfurt are in a position where they “don’t say no” to a good offer for Lindstrom. The player is expected to attract offers of between €35-40 million.

Spurs Web Opinion

Lindstrom is a very good player who would probably adapt to the Premier League with ease.

He could be exactly the kind of player we need in midfield, and I’d be very keen to see us pursue this one.
