Report: Tottenham keen on returning to PSV to land Dutch youngster

According to a report inThe Sun, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in landing young PSV Eindhoven defender Nawaaz Landfeld.

The 16-year-old left-back is yet to make his debut for PSV’s senior side but has been one of the stars of the club’s under-17 team.

His performances for the under-17 side have reportedly caught Tottenham’s eye, with the young full-back having been at PSV’s academy since 2016.

The teenager, who is known for his ability to get up the pitch and support in attack, has previously revealed that he idolises Real Madrid defender Marcelo (Voetbal Primeur).

Spurs have had several problems in defence this season and it has been reported that Jose Mourinho is keen on revamping the club’s backline in the summer (The Express).

The report inThe Sun suggests that Spurs have struck up a good relationship with PSV after the £27 million capture of Steven Bergwijn in January.

The Lilywhites are now expected to return for Landfeld’s services in the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Looking at the players we have been linked with over the last few months, it looks like we are paying more attention to the young talents from the Dutch and French markets now that we were previously. Perhaps, that has something to do with the change in coaching staff as the new management team will likely have set different priorities.
