Report: Tottenham-linked forward keen to leave French club this summer

Reported Tottenham target Wissam Ben Yedder is keen on a move away from AS Monaco with a number of Premier League sides interested, according to GFFN.

It is not just Spurs reported to be keen on the French striker with both Manchester United and Arsenal having also been linked with the player (The Sun).

It is suggested that Ben Yedder has expressed his desire to leave Monaco in a bid to play Champions League football.

Having finished the Ligue 1 season in ninth place, Monaco could be forced into selling the forward who they only signed last summer in a deal worth £36m from Sevilla (Transfermarkt).

Ben Yedder hit the ground running for Monaco, scoring 18 goals in his 26 appearances for the Ligue 1 side.

On top of his 18 league goals, the 29-year-old claimed seven assists and also he staked a 56% involvement in all the league goals scored this season by his team.

He finished alongside Kylian Mbappe in the race for the Ligue 1 Golden Boot, however, the PSG forward was awarded it it on technicalities.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Ben Yedder is wanting to play Champions League next season, the three potential suitors listed may not be able to provide him with that. However, would a striker of his calibre be willing to sit on the bench behind Harry Kane? Unlikely.
