Report: Tottenham-linked midfielder ‘not convinced’ about move to Arsenal

According to Spanish publication Sport, AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar, has not been convinced by Arsenal’s proposal.

Kessie’s current contract at the San Siro runs out in the summer (Transfermarkt) and according to reports, Spurs tried to snap him up in January but the midfielder preferred to wait until the end of the season to leave Milan as a free agent (CalcioMeracto).

Barcelona are also thought to be keen on snapping up the 25-year-old (Gianluigi Longari) but MilanNews.it claimed last month that Tottenham are currently the front-runners to sign the midfielder, having made the ‘most concrete offer’ for the player.

Sport have now revealed that Kessie has made it clear to the Milan hierarchy that he will not be extending his stay at the Serie A club.

The report claims that the Ivory Coast international has received proposals from both Arsenal and Everton but has not been convinced by either one.

It is asserted that Barcelona have intensified negotiations with Kessie over recent weeks and the midfielder is getting ‘closer and closer’ to a move to Camp Nou.

Spurs Web Opinion

It would be difficult for Spurs to convince Kessie to come to North London unless we have Champions League football to offer. The pull of the Premier League and Antonio Conte might not be enough, particularly since it seems like Barcelona are also keen on snapping up the 25-year-old.
