Report: Tottenham-linked striker does not want to transfer away this summer

Lyon striker Moussa Dembele, who has been linked with a potential move to Tottenham this summer, wants to remain at the Ligue 1 club, according to L’Equipe.

Tottenham have signed three players this summer in the form of Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Yves Bissuoma.

According to reports, the North London club are now looking to sign two more defenders, an attacking midfielder and a striker (The Times).

As far as Tottenham’s striker search is concerned, the likes of Lautaro Martinez (Alfredo Pedulla), Richarlison (UOL) and Gabriel Jesus (Mirror) have all been mooted as potential targets.

Dembele is another name who is thought to be on Spurs’ radar, with Foot Mercato reporting last month that the Lilywhites were one of several Premier League sides tracking the former Celtic man.

The report claimed that Lyon were willing to sell the 25-year-old for a fee of around €25m (£21.2m) this summer as he just has 12 months left to run on his contract at the Groupama Stadium.

However, L’Equipe now state that despite Alexandre Lacazette returning to Lyon, Dembele could end up staying at the club. It is explained that the striker is happy at the Ligue 1 club and has no intention to depart this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not see Dembele wanting to join Spurs as he is an out-and-out centre-forward, which means that he would have to play second fiddle to Harry Kane and his opportunities would be few and far between. I think we are much more likely to sign a forward of Richarlison’s mould, who can also play out wide.
