Report: Tottenham linked with double Serie A raid

Tottenham Hotspur could upgrade both full-back positions this summer with the acquisitions of Alex Sandro from Juventus and Timothy Castagne from Atalanta according to the latest reports from Italy.

Tutto Mercato Web (as translated by the Daily Mail) claim that Spurs have identified Sandro as the man to fill the void at left-back created by the potential sale of Danny Rose.

It is revealed that the North Londoners are willing to offer Serge Aurier plus cash to sign the Brazilian.

The 29-year-old is said to be available for £44million this summer but it is claimed Spurs are hoping that offering the Ivorian international will help bring the price down.

Additionally, the report also suggests that the Lilywhites are keen on signing Castagne, who has had an impressive season for Atalanta.

Spurs are already said to be in advanced talks with the Serie A club to sign the Belgian international.

This revelation from Tutto Mercato Web contradicts other reports from earlier in the week which suggested that Aurier will be handed a new contract (Le10Sport) and that Jose Mourinho is happy with the options he has at left-back (Football Insider).

Spurs Web Opinion

If Juventus want Aurier, I can see why it will make sense for us to let him leave and sign two right-backs this summer, while also getting Alex Sandro. There are likely to be a lot of swap deals this summer due to the lack of cash in the market. While Castagne and Sandro will both be brilliant additions for us, I cannot see either deal happening.
