Report: Tottenham linked with full-back who has scored 16 goals this season

According to a report by The Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs interested in signing Rangers right-back James Tavernier who is having an impressive season at Ibrox.

The 29-year-old has scored a remarkable 16 times and assisted another 10 goals this season in all competitions from right-back (transfermarkt.com).

His brilliant form is one of the main reasons that Steven Gerrard’s men sit 13 points clear of rivals Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

The Leeds academy graduate is said to be attracting plenty of interest from the Premier League with The Mail reporting that Spurs face could face competition from West Ham, Crystal Palace, Newcastle and Everton for Tavernier’s signature.

The report reveals that the defender has 18 months left on his contract with the Glasgow giants and that Rangers will try and hang on to him at least until the end of the season as they look to win their first league title in ten years.
