According to a report from Il Matino, Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing up Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti as a potential replacement for Antonio Conte if the Italian decides to leave the club.
Conte has been with Tottenham since November 2021 but his time with the club has been tumultuous, to say the least.
The 53-year-old took Tottenham from mid-table to the top four last year in an impressive first season in North London. However, inconsistent results have placed some doubt over his future with Spurs.
With his contract up in the summer, reports predict Conte may end up parting ways with Tottenham at the end of the season (Sky Sport Italia via Tutto Juve).
Conte has had a difficult time in his personal life too, with close friends passing away and now Conte himself having surgery to remove his gallbladder. It is thought he may be keen to return to his native Italy as a result.
If that should happen, it sounds like Spurs bosses have found the perfect replacement in Napoli boss Spalletti. Napoli are currently flying high in Serie A, a huge 12 points clear of second-placed Inter Milan.
The latest reports out of Italy suggest that, should Conte decide to leave in the summer, Tottenham would like to approach Spalletti to take his place.
It is thought there are doubts over the 63-year-old’s future, too, despite his current winning ways.
Whether or not Spalletti would be available remains to be seen, but he is being touted as an option for Spurs regardless.

Spalletti is a manager who knows how to win trophies and he’s got this Napoli side playing some amazing football.
He’s also helped to develop two incredible players in Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who are among the most exciting players in the world right now. I would be more than happy to see Spalletti take over if Conte does leave.
