Report: Tottenham make enquiry for Serie A striker

If reports are to be believed, Spurs are looking to strengthen their ranks in several positions during the summer after two transfer windows without any fresh faces.

With Fernando Llorente’s contract running out at the end of the season, Spurs have also been linked with several strikers recently.

The latest striker to be linked with the club is Inter Milan superstar Mauro Icardi. FC Intern News claim that Tottenham have enquired about the striker’s availability before making a potential summer move.

Icardi has been one of the most prolific strikers in Europe for the past few seasons having notched up 122 goals in 210 games for Inter.

However, the striker has had problems with the club hierarchy this season, having been stripped off the Captaincy and reportedly refusing to return to training citing injury.

Inter are said to be open to listening to offers for the striker at the end of the current campaign.

If the report is to be believed, Pochettino is a major fan of his fellow-countryman but only wants to move for him in the event that Harry Kane decides to leave the club.

The club are highly unlikely to Kane leave following the conclusion of the campaign given he just signed a new contract with the club last summer with that in mind, the chances of a move for Icardi materialising seems pretty slim.
