Report: Tottenham make first contact to sign Brazilian star

Tottenham Hotspur have apparently already made contact with Barcelona over the possible transfer of Malcom from Spain to North London.

The Brazilian winger signed from Bordeaux for £36.5m in July 2018, but has failed to make much of an impact this season, registering only six starts for Barca (BBC).

Tottenham were actually labelled as favourites to sign the winger back in the summer of 2018 before Barcelona swooped for the player (Telegraph).

However, Spurs were then linked with the forward yet again in January 2019, as some reports hinted at a winter move to the club (Express).

Yet again, the move never came to fruition, and Malcom remained at Barcelona, with the rumour mill churning once again now that the summer window is well and truly open.

A new report out of Spanish news outlet Sport claims that Tottenham have already made contact with Barca over a move this summer, with £35m said to be the price tag.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Yet again, I really do not want to see Spurs overspending on a player who has sat on the bench for the last season. I would much rather invest in in-form players, preferably with Premier League experience. However, if Tottenham can drive the price down a little, Malcom looks a good prospect and could provide some depth to the wing position, alongside Heung Min Son and Lucas Moura.
