Report: Tottenham make opening offer for 21-goal striker

According to a report from Calcio Mercato, Tottenham Hotspur have made an offer for Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic.

Vlahovic’s name has risen to prominence on the back of his impressive performances for La Viola last season, with the striker netting 21 goals in Serie A.

Previous reports from Italy have indicated that Tottenham’s new managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, has identified the Serbian international as a potential replacement for Harry Kane.

CalcioMercato have now reiterated that Paratici is driving Spurs’ interest in Vlahovic and add that the North London club have already made an offer for the striker.

However, it is revealed that Tottenham’s offer is not the only one Fiorentina have received for the 21-year-old, with AC Milan and Atletico Madrid are also launching bids.

It is explained that Juventus also hold an interest in Vlahovic but are yet to make a move for him. The report alleges that Fiorentine value the striker at around €60m (£51.4m).

Spurs Web Opinion

Vlahovic is a fantastic talent and I am convinced his value is going to skyrocket over the next few years. So, I would be thrilled whether we pick him up as one of Kane’s replacements or as a backup to the England captain.

However, there is no way we are going to pay £50m for the 21-year-old, even if we cash in on Kane. I suspect that is just Fiorentina’s starting position and that their asking price for the striker will come down in the comings and months, given that he has just two years left on his contract.
