Report: Tottenham may have competition from abroad in race for Alex Scott

TuttoMercatoWeb have claimed that Inter Milan could make a move for Bristol City sensation Alex Scott, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar.

It has been well documented that signing a number eight is a priority for Spurs this summer, with reports over recent days continuing to back Ange Postecoglou’s men to make a move for Leicester City’s James Maddison (Guardian).

Another comparatively lower-profile midfielder who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar is Scott, who has emerged as one of the best young talents in the EFL over the last couple of years.

In fact, Football.London reported just last week that Tottenham have asked to be kept informed about the 19-year-old’s situation but the outlet claimed that several other Premier League clubs also have their eye on the youngster.

Inter Milan have entered the race for Alex Scott

If TMW’s latest update is to be believed, Spurs could also face competition from Italy for Scott, with Inter now eyeing a move for the midfielder.

The publication states that the Nerazzurri are ‘serious’ about their interest in the England Under-20 international and could now be ready to launch an offer for him.

It is asserted that Scott is valued by Bristol at €25m (£21.5m) while Simone Inzaghi’s men are hoping to close the operation at around €18m (£15.4m).

Spurs Web Opinion

Scott seems like an ideal Postecoglou player, given his bravery on the ball while it has been well-documented that the Australian likes working with youngsters since they are more malleable.

It feels like the 19-year-old is another one of those players that we will rue missing out on in a few years if we fail to get a deal over the line for him this summer.
