Report: Tottenham may have no choice but to loan out four senior players

The Sun have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur may have no choice but to loan out Giovani Lo Celso, Tanguy Ndombele, Harry Winks and Sergio Reguilon this summer.

All four players have not been involved with first-team training since returning for pre-season and Spurs have been trying to offload them.

The Sun claim the North London club have found it ‘difficult’ to locate buyers for the quartet and are finding it to be a frustrating seller’s market. It is explained that the Lilywhites are thus considering loaning out all four players.

The Sun claim that Villarreal want to re-sign Lo Celso but Unai Emery’s men would only be able to sign the midfielder on loan unless they raise money through player sales.

The report adds that Winks is being monitored by Premier League clubs and is also of interest to Sampdoria but the Serie A club may not be able to afford the 25-year-old’s wages.

Spurs Web Opinion

Spurs fans may not think much of these players but all four of them are internationals and would improve many clubs across Europe’s top five leagues. In normal circumstances, one would expect all four players to attract plenty of offers.

However, in the post-pandemic football economy, clubs outside the Premier League are in a perilous financial position, which is why Tottenham will likely have to agree to loan out all four of them and hope that the market is in better shape next summer.
