Report: Tottenham may have said farewell to Wembley

Tottenham played out their first draw of the season against Arsenal at Wembley on Saturday.

According to a report in the Evening Standard, the North London derby could be the last home game Spurs play at Wembley as they hope to host their next home game at their new 62,062 capacity stadium.

The report claims that Tottenham will be targeting their next home fixture against Brighton currently scheduled for April 7th as the first game at the new stadium. However, if Brighton progress in the FA Cup, Spurs will open the stadium against Huddersfield on the 13th of next month.

It is also claimed that the club is trying to schedule both the test events at the end of March in an effort to have the stadium ready at the beginning of April.

This certainly comes as good news for Spurs fans who have been left frustrated at the repeated delays to the stadium owing to circuitry issues.

If all goes to plan Spurs could play their five remaining home games this season as well as a potential Champions League quarter-final at their stunning new home.
