Report: Tottenham may have to compete with Saudi club for winger target

Sport have revealed that Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal are now willing to make a mammoth offer to sign rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Raphinha.

Raphinha has had an injury-hit season and has not been a regular in Barcelona’s starting lineup for much of the campaign and reports over the last couple of months have indicated that he could be on his way out of Camp Nou this summer.

Tottenham are thought to be one of the clubs interested in him, with some Spanish outlets even suggesting over recent weeks that the Lilywhites have already contacted the 27-year-old about a summer move (Relovo).

Saudi clubs are interested in Spurs-linked Raphinha

However, it now looks like Tottenham will have competition to contend with from the Middle East, with Sport reporting that various Saudi clubs have ‘knocked on the door’ for Raphina.

One of those clubs is Al-Hilal, who are allegedly willing to table a bid worth up to €100m (£86m), including fixed money and variables.

The report says that Barca ‘cannot ignore’ that sort of offer as they are desperate for a financial injection in order to improve their economic situation.

The publication adds that Al-Hilal are also willing to triple Raphinha’s current salary, which might prove quite tempting for the player.

Spurs Web Opinion

No club in Europe is going to pay over £80m for Raphinha or offer him the kind of salary that Al-Hilal are. However, the player might feel that he is not ready to move to the Middle East at this stage of his career, thus potentially presenting Tottenham and others with a chance.
