Report: Tottenham may revisit a deal for 23-year-old in the summer

According to RMC Sport, Tottenham Hotspur could reignite their interest in Nice centre-back Jean Clair-Todibo next summer after missing out on the Frenchman this month.

A few weeks ago, it was widely reported that Spurs had opened talks with Nice for Todibo and that the North London club were aiming to sign the centre-back swiftly (TEAMtalk).

However, it subsequently emerged that the Premier League side decided to turn their attention to Radu Dragusin instead as the Ligue 1 were dragging their feet in the negotiations for the 23-year-old (Telegraph).

Tottenham could return for Jean-Clair Todibo

RMC Sport now say that it was not just Spurs who showed interest in Todibo this window but also Manchester United and Chelsea but it is revealed that the player looks likely to stay put at Allianz Riviera.

The report states that Ange Postecoglou’s men have not forgotten about the France international, whose profile is said to be ‘highly regarded internally’ at Hotspur Way.

The publication adds that Tottenham are thus ‘likely to be come back’ for Todibo next summer as the Premier League side are expected to have a bigger budget to work with at the end of the season.

Spurs Web Opinion

A lot can change between now and the summer and any move for Todibo next summer would not just depend on the Nice star’s form over the next six months but also on how well Dragusin does at Tottenham. It is quite unlikely that Spurs would spend £50m on a centre-back when they have three top players in that position already.
