Report: Tottenham midfielder has admirers at both Spanish and Italian clubs

The Athletic have revealed that Harry Winks has admirers in both Spain and Italy.

Winks was linked with a move away from Spurs during the summer transfer window after he struggled for game time for the majority of last season under Jose Mourinho.

However, the 25-year-old ended up staying put at his boyhood club, with sources claiming that he was keen to fight for his place under Nuno Espirito Santo.

The Times reported earlier this month that the midfielder is looking to leave Tottenham on loan in January in order to rejuvenate his career. The Athletic have now backed up that claim, reporting that the England international wants to play regularly.

Apart from interest from both Spain and Italy, it is explained that Winks has also several admirers in England. It is revealed that Aston Villa, Everton and Brighton showed interest in snapping up the Tottenham man during the summer transfer window.

Spurs Web Opinion

I do feel sorry for Winks as it is evident that he has lost confidence owing to the lack of game time over the last couple of years.

It is very difficult for any player to come into the side after a long spell out and play well. So, it is unfair to judge him too harshly on some of his recent performances.

I still believe there is a very good player in there but I suspect that the 25-year-old is unlikely to live up to his potential at Spurs.
