Report: Tottenham might have to pay £40m to land 18-goal attacker this summer

Football Insider have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur would have to spend big if they wish to land Crysencio Summerville from Leeds United this summer.

Summerville has been one of the best attackers on show in English football’s second tier this season, with the winger having managed 18 goals and nine assists over the course of the season (Transfermarkt).

Earlier this month, HITC reported that Tottenham are one of several Premier League sides plotting a move for the wide-man this summer.

The report pointed out that should Daniel Farke’s men fail to win promotion, a major bidding war could erupt for the 22-year-old’s signature.

Leeds will demand a big fee for Summerville

Football Insider now claim that with Summerville being named the Championship Player of the Year, Leeds have no intention of letting the player leave on a discount this summer.

The report points out that despite the growing interest in the winger’s services, Farke’s men want to tie him down to a new contract.

The publication adds that it might take an offer of £30m-£40m to poach Summerville from Elland Road this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

I cannot see Spurs or any other club paying £40m for a player who is still not proven at the highest level. Should Leeds fail to win promotion, the Netherlands Under-21 international will likely be available for around £25m-£30m.
