Report: Tottenham monitoring Norwich City player ahead of summer window

According to a report by Football League World, Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring Norwich City midfielder Todd Cantwell who will just have a year left to run on his contract at the end of the season.

Cantwell, who can play through the middle or in either flank, won plenty of admirers with his performances in the Premier League last season.

The attacking midfielder has continued to shine for the Canaries this season, with the club looking likely to bounce straight back to the top flight after their relegation last year.

Football League World claims= that Tottenham and Leicester are monitoring Cantwell’s performances but it is said that the North Londoners do not want to get into a bidding war for the 22-year-old.

The report asserts that Daniel Farke’s side want to hang on to all of their stars ahead of a potential return to the Premier League.

However, it is said that Norwich are bracing themselves for bids for some of their key players including Emi Buendia and Max Aarons.

Previous reports have claimed that Aarons is another Canaries player who is on Tottenham’s radar.

Spurs Web Opinion

Given our issues with the number of homegrown players and our financial situation, it is understandable why we might be considering a move for Cantwell, particularly given his contract situation. However, I do not believe he will improve our starting eleven.
