Report: Tottenham not on same page as Atalanta with Malinovskyi deal

Tottenham Hotspur and Atalanta are not on the same page regarding the structure of a possible move for Ruslan Malinovskyi, according to Sky Sports (10:43 – 23/08/22).

Tottenham are actively on the lookout for an attacking midfield addition this summer (Evening Standard), with the likes of Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso being allowed to leave.

Malinovskyi has emerged as a target for the Lilywhites in recent weeks (TuttoAtalanta), with his future reportedly set to be away from Gian Piero Gasperini’s side (TuttoMercatoWeb).

In fact, this week Bergamo Corriere also revealed the player’s desire to join Spurs after he rejected an offer from Olympique de Marseille.

Sky Sports claim that Tottenham have looked into the possibility of signing the Ukrainian on a loan deal, but Atalanta are unwilling to accept that.

The Serie A side have no plans to let Malinovskyi leave on a loan move as the 29-year-old has less than 12 months left in his current contract.

Spurs Web Opinion:

It would not be a surprise to see a creative midfielder becoming a priority for Fabio Paratici and co in the latter stages of this transfer window. After all, the team struggled quite a lot against Chelsea and Wolverhampton Wanderers when it came to creating opportunities.

Those struggles have warned Spurs of the issues they could run into this season should they fail to bring in an adequate reinforcement. They have spots available in their midfield after they moved out Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele and could still create more space with Harry Winks currently being put up for sale (Evening Standard).
