Report: Tottenham now ‘close’ to finalising Nusa deal after holding overnight talks

Football Insider have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are now ‘close to’ striking a deal to sign Antonio Nusa after holding talks overnight on Friday for the winger.

Over the last 24 hours, several outlets have reported that Spurs are locked in talks over a deal to sign Nusa, with the winger expected to be loaned back to Club Brugge until next summer if a deal is agreed (The Athletic).

On Friday, it was suggested by The Daily Mirror that Spurs are aware that the 18-year-old is also on the radars of Chelsea, Arsenal and Brentford, which is why Daniel Levy and co want to ‘move quickly’ to snap up the Norway international.

Tottenham are making progress in Antonio Nusa talks

It has now been reported by Football Insider that the two clubs made progress overnight in their negotiations over Nusa.

As a result, Tottenham have now allegedly moved into pole position to land the winger before the transfer window closes at the end of this month.

The publication says that Ange Postecoglou’s men are now ‘working hard to seal a £25m deal’ for Nusa, with Brugge keen to keep the youngster at the club until the end of the season as they vie for Europa Conference League glory.

This sounds like it should be a fairly easy deal to complete, given the relatively low fee involved and the player’s desire to make the move. The only potential issue could be the entry of other clubs into the race over the coming days, with Nusa being on the radar of many sides.
