Report: Tottenham now have just two names at top of list to replace Lloris

ESPN have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have identified Dean Henderson as a potential option to take over the gloves from Hugo Lloris, alongside Jordan Pickford at the top of the Lilywhites’ wishlist.

Henderson, who is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest until the end of the season, is contracted to Manchester United until 2025, with the club having the option to extend the deal by another 12 months (Transfermarkt).

ESPN state that the goalkeeper is keen on playing regular football in order to make sure he gets into the England squad ahead of the European Championship in 2024.

Henderson is thus expected to hold talks with the Red Devils hierarchy this summer to find a solution for his future, with Tottenham said to be interested in a move for him if he is put up for sale.

ESPN add that the 26-year-old shot-stopper is one of two names at the top of Spurs’ wishlist, alongside Jordan Pickford, who has now signed a new contract with Everton.

The publication even suggests that Tottenham could be open to opening talks with United regarding a move for Harry Kane and potentially look to get Henderson as a part of that deal.

With Pickford now having signed a new deal, I would expect David Raya to be at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist, given Brentford number one’s contract situation.

However, Henderson could also be a tempting option for Spurs as the fact that he is homegrown is a huge tick in the 26-year-old’s favour.
