Report: Tottenham now plotting move for £4.2m German teenage sensation

BILD have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are one of several clubs plotting a move for Hertha Berlin starlet Boris Lum, who is making waves in youth football in Germany.

The report says that the midfielder is considered one of the finest products to emerge out of the club’s youth academy in recent years and the list of his admirers is now growing.

Although the 16-year-old is yet to make his first-team debut for Hertha, he has earned the praise of manager Pal Dardai.

Dardai is quoted as saying about the youngster: “I haven’t seen a central midfielder like that at Hertha for a long time. He is one of the greatest talents of recent years. It’s a pleasure to watch him play. He is a born footballer.”

Tottenham are interested in German starlet, Boris Lum

Bild say that several clubs across Europe have now ‘cast a fishing rod’ for Lum, who is now thought to be on the cusp of breaking into Hertha’s first team, having trained with the senior squad in their winter camp in Spain this month.

The report says that Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, Ajax and RB Salzburg have all made contact already about the teenager while Barcelona and Tottenham also have the player ‘in their sights’.

The outlet explains that the capital club have tied down the youngster to a new long-term deal which runs until 2026 but his contract is thought to have a release clause of just €5m (£4.2m).

Tottenham might be considering signing Lum and loaning him back to Hertha, given how well that formula has worked out for them over the last few years. The release clause should make this deal fairly easy to do if Spurs should decide to sign the teenager.
