Report: Tottenham offer midfielder to French club before January deadline

Tottenham Hotspur have just over a day left to conduct their transfer dealings in the January window before it slams shut until the summer.

One man who the club seem keen to show the door to is former first-team regular Victor Wanyama. Back in 2017, the Kenyan was one of the first names on the team sheet in a midfield with Mousa Dembele.

However, the player has slipped further and further down the pecking order since a run of bad injuries and has only appeared once under new head coach Jose Mourinho.

L’Equipe have now reported that Spurs have actually contacted Stade Rennais in France to offer them the Kenyan international this month.

Rennes are said to be in talks with AS Roma for Steven N’zonzi at the moment. However, Wanyama could be an option. The Spurs man is also said to have a concrete offer from Fiorentina this month.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Part of the rebuild is getting players out the door like Wanyama who have no future at the club and reinvesting the money. It is a shame because he was an incredible player, but his time is done.
