Report: Tottenham offered the chance to sign Juventus player on loan

According to a report by The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the chance to sign former Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey on loan just a year after he left their North London rivals to join Juventus.

Ramsey has failed to make the expected impact in his first season in Serie A and the report suggests that the reigning league champions are ready to cut their losses on the midfielder after just a season.

It is said that the Italian giants need to reduce their wage bill in the wake of the pandemic with Ramsey’s £400,000-a-week proving a major burden for the club.

The report claims that Spurs have been offered the chance to sign the midfielder this summer and are said to be considering it.

Although the midfielder’s wages might prove to be a problem for the Lilywhites, it is said that the club will be able to snap him up for a reduced transfer fee.

The report also goes on to claim that a season-long loan deal is a possibility with Juve subsidising half of the Wales international’s wages.

Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United have also bee named as potential destinations for the former Cardiff City player.

Spurs Web Opinion

This rumour is a complete non-starter in my opinion. Not only are we unlikely to be in a position to pay Ramsey’s wages but I doubt the midfielder himself would consider moving to Spurs, thus destroying his Arsenal legacy in the process.
