Report: Tottenham player banned from driving for six months

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Erik Lamela has been hit with a six-month ban from driving after he was caught speeding in his Land Rover last year.

The Argentine was caught doing 48 miles per hour in a 40 zone on the A10 between Turkey Street and Hoe Lane in Enfield back on 13 May 2020.

The case was heard at the Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court and the points added to Lamela’s licence meant that he had exceeded the 12 point limit, now having 15.

However, the Spurs footballer did not actually appear in court himself, although he was asked to attend via letter. Therefore, Lamela has been banned from driving for the next six months.

Lamela played 35 times for Tottenham this season across all competitions, scoring four goals and registering one assist during this time (TransferMarkt).

If the Argentine is still at the North London club at the start of the 2021/22 season, he may need a lift to training for the early months of the season.
