According to talkSPORT, Son Heung-min has now become a year younger after South Korea made an amendment to their traditional ageing method.
Prior to the change, a person’s Korean age included the gestation period for all babies, meaning they were all counted as one-year-olds at birth.
Additionally, the people in the country would legally become a year older when a New Year arrived, meaning that babies born in December would become two years old on January 1.
Heung-min Son is set to be a year younger in Korea
However, a law was passed in South Korea last December to change this practice, with the new rule set to come into force this week.
So, going forward, age in the country will be calculated the same way that it is in the rest of the world.
As a result, Son will become a year younger as per South Korean law but talkSPORT explain that nothing changes with respect to the Tottenham star’s age in the UK.

For all practical purposes, nothing changes regarding Son’s professional life as his age was evidently always calculated the standard way in Europe.
