Report: Tottenham player ‘dreams’ of securing a deadline day exit

According to Corriere dello Sport, Bryan Gil is desperate to exit Tottenham Hotspur before the transfer window slams shut.

Over the past couple of weeks, Gil has been mooted as a target for the likes of Lazio, Brentford and Brighton (Ben Jacobs – The Last Word on Spurs podcast).

The winger, who has had loan spells at Valencia and Sevilla during the last two seasons, is potentially on course to make yet another temporary move away from the North London club.

That is the belief of Corriere dello Sport, who say that the winger can ‘move at any time’ because Tottenham want him gone before the window closes.

Bryan Gil is keen on a Tottenham exit today

In fact, the outlet goes on to add that the Spaniard ‘dreams’ of someone calling him in the final moments of the window and saving him from his predicament at Spurs.

It is alleged that while Maurizio Sarri likes Gil, his lack of goal threat is a matter of concern for the Italian, which is why Lazio have ‘put a break’ on his pursuit.

The report adds that the Serie A club are now also looking at other wingers, including former Tottenham man Jack Clarke, who is valued at €30m (£25.6m) by Sunderland.

If Gil is available on loan, one would expect many clubs to be vying for the winger’s signature right up to the transfer deadline. The fact that more sides have not gotten involved in the race suggests that Tottenham are either reluctant to let him go, demanding a sizable loan fee or perhaps even insisting on a permanent sale.
