Bryan Gil’s return to the Spain squad has ended in a disappointing fashion, with the winger withdrawing from the national side due to injury.
Gil has showcased his quality and versatility since his loan move to the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan stadium in January, impressing as a left wing-back for Sevilla.
The youngster was rewarded for his displays with a call-up to the La Roja set-up for their upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against Norway and Scotland.
The call-up would have certainly been a sweet feeling for the 22-year-old after he missed out on Spain’s squad for last year’s World Cup, primarily due to his lack of game time at Tottenham.
However, the winger is now set to return to Sevilla before kicking a ball for his national side.
It has been revealed that the on-loan Tottenham man felt some discomfort during training and it was thus decided to send him back to his club as a precaution.

The fact that it is just a precautionary decision suggests that the winger is not expected to be sidelined for too long.
The one silver lining from this is that he will perhaps be able to make an impression on the new Sevilla head coach, Jose Luis Mendilibar, during the international break.
