Report: Tottenham player in talks with Bundesliga club over loan move

Vincent Janssen is the subject of increasing interest from clubs at both home and abroad ahead of the transfer window closing this evening.

Janssen was previously said to be attracting interest from Cardiff City, Burnley and Real Betis, it now appears that a new contender has emerged for the Dutch international’s signature.

Sky Sports now report that Spurs are in talks with Bundesliga club Schalke over a possible loan deal until the end of the current campaign. The report claims that a move to Real Betis now looks unlikely for the Dutch international.

Both Mauricio Pochettino, as well as Janssen’s agent, have confirmed recently that the former AZ Alkmaar player has no way back into Spurs’ first team and is looking for an exit from the club. The 24-year-old has been training and playing with the Under-23 side recently in an effort to get match fit.

The Dutch striker who was signed in the summer of 2016 has failed to make an impact in front of goal during his time in North London. He has scored 6 goals in total in 39 appearances for the Lillywhites, with 4 of them coming from the penalty spot.
