Report: Tottenham player is likely to transfer to a La Liga club in the summer

Football Insider have claimed that Brayn Gil is expected to seal a permanent switch to La Liga this summer, with the winger having made up his mind to leave Tottenham.

There was plenty of excitement surrounding Gil’s arrival when Spurs signed him from Sevilla in 2021 but the winger has failed to force himself into the Tottenham team in his three years at the club.

The attacker has not had much of a look in under Ange Postecoglou this season but there has been a lot said and written about his future recently.

Last week, Fabrizio Romano explained that the 23-year-old turned down the chance to leave Spurs on loan in January and that his stance has not changed since then, with the player only open to a permanent switch.

The journalist asserted that the Spain international would only make the jump if he felt a certain project would be the right fit for him.

However, Football Insider have now asserted that Gil is not happy with his current situation at N17 and has already made up his mind to leave in search of regular football.

The publication adds that Tottenham are ready to listen to the offers for the player, who is likely to return to La Liga this summer.

Gil’s decision to stay at Tottenham in January made little sense as it was clear that the winger was going to struggle for game time once everyone was fit.

Spurs would have wanted the 23-year-old to go out on loan and his refusal to do so might end up costing the Lilywhites a few million this summer as his transfer value would have dropped.
