Report: Tottenham player is ‘upset’ with lack of minutes from Ange Postecoglou

According to a report in Estadio Deportivo (as relayed by TEAMtalk), Giovani Lo Celso has been left ‘upset’ by his lack of minutes at Tottenham over recent months.

The report says that Ange Postescoglou decided against loaning out Lo Celso during the last two transfer windows as he believed the midfielder could be a valuable squad player.

However, the 28-year-old has had to settle for a few brief cameos off the bench over recent months and this has allegedly left him quite ‘upset’.

The Argentina international is now expected to ‘force an exit’ from Hotspur Way this summer, five years on from joining the club.

A return to Real Betis is on the cards for Lo Celso

Estadio Deportivo say that Tottenham would be willing to cash in on Lo Celso and that Betis ‘have not forgotten the attacking midfielder’ and are determined to re-sign him.

The report adds that the Spurs man is open to returning to Benito Villamarin Stadium as he believes the move would help him establish himself as a regular in the Argentine national side.

The publication alleges that Lo Celso is resigned to not being a starter for the Albicelestes in this summer’s Copa America but wants to play a key role in the 2026 World Cup.

It is alleged that Betis are in ‘constant and fluid contact’ with Tottenham over a summer deal for the midfielder and that the Spanish club have moved to the front of the queue for his signature.

One can understand Lo Celso’s frustration as he has played well whenever he has been handed a chance and Tottenham’s midfielders have hardly been pulling up trees over the last couple of months. So he will feel that he deserves more opportunities.
