Report: Tottenham player not spotted in open training after injury scare

Destiny Udogie is nowhere to be seen in Spurs’ open training session at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this morning, after coming off early against Brighton.

Udogie has been an indispensable part of Ange Postecoglou’s set-up this season, with the left-back having taken to the Premier League like fish to water.

The 21-year-old is increasingly getting better at inverting and handling the ball in the middle of the pitch while his recovery pace has also proven a major asset for the Lilywhites, given the high defensive line they play.

Given his importance to the side, there would have been some concerns among Spurs fans when the defender hobbled off in the 80th minute of the clash against Brighton, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg replacing him.

Destiny Udogie absent from Tottenham training

Postecoglou told Football London after the game that he was not sure if the Italian had suffered from cramp or something else.

However, with Udogie not being seen training with his teammates in the live broadcast, it would appear that the left-back is suffering from something more serious than just cramp.

We will have to wait for Postecoglou’s press conference for confirmation of the nature and extent of Udogie’s injury. The Tottenham boss will not be sweating about this as he has a reliable deputy to call upon in the form of Ben Davies.
