Report: Tottenham player offered back to old club – and they are considering it

Tottenham Hotspur struggled with injuries to star striker Harry Kane this season, as well as contending with two spells without Heung Min Son as he joined South Korea in international tournaments.

As a result, Pochettino found unlikely heroes in Fernando Llorente and Lucas Moura, players who had been confined to the bench for large parts of the season.

However, there was still no place for Vincent Janssen, as the Dutch striker had to make do with a couple of Premier League cameos towards the end of the season.

This may have been an attempt to put the striker in the shop window as he has failed to make much impact in North London.

However, Sabah now report that Janssen has been offered back to Fenerbahce, a club at which he spent a spell on loan in the 2017/18 season.

According to the report, the Turkish giants were impressed with his attitude and work rate, despite injury problems restricting him to just the four goals.

They are now said to be considering bringing him back to the club as their new number 9.

Spurs Web Opinion:

If I were Tottenham, I would take anything over £10m for Janssen. Get him off the wage bill and make room for some new players, while adding a little bit of money to the transfer kitty. He has barely played in two years, so I would see it as free money to reinvest in bigger and better stars.
