Report: Tottenham player wants to push for a transfer away this summer

According to 90 min, Harry Kane is pushing for an exit from Tottenham Hotspur this summer amidst the team’s recent struggles.

Kane will have just two years left to run on his contract at the end of the season (Transfermarkt) and some reports have claimed the striker is seeking assurances that Spurs will back Conte in the summer before committing his future to the club (The Sun).

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the England captain is enjoying working with Conte and the striker’s future is tied into the Italian’s (Here We Go podcast – starting at 16:34).

Kane himself admitted in an interview to Sky Sports this week that he believes the former Inter Milan boss could take Tottenham back to a position where they can once again challenge for major honours.

However, if 90 min’s latest update is to be believed, the 28-year-old has already made up his mind to leave Spurs when the transfer window reopens.

The report claims that Kane is ‘displeased’ with Tottenham’s results over the last few months and does not believe that the club can match his ambitions.

Spurs Web Opinion

I suspect Kane will want to wait until the summer to make a decision on his future. Even if we somehow manage to sneak into the top-four, I am not sure the striker will want to sign a new contract without a release clause.

So, Spurs will have a big decision to make this summer as clubs who fail to get Haaland, will likely come after Kane. My gut feeling is that Tottenham will look to keep him for one more season and hope that an improved showing under Conte next campaign would convince the striker to pen a new deal.
